Only 3 spots left!
Our typical 4 day charter consists of the dives
as follows:
Day 1, Cumberland or Cox - depth 30 - 100'. Stop
at Windigo ranger station to register with the Park Service. There
is also a small store with souvenirs and showers. Next
stop is the America, depth 4 - 78'. We will then travel
toward the north end of the island. We will probably
stop at Todd Harbor and anchor for the evening.
In
the morning we will travel to Canoe Rocks and our first dive
will be on the Emperor stern, depth 100 - 150' most of dive
at 115 - 120'. We will do a second dive here also as
it takes multiple dive to see the stern of this wreck, (probably
the premier dive of this trip). We will move to the
bow of the Emperor and do a dive on this end, depth 30 -
100'. After this we will move to the Monarch for a
dive, (depth 10 -65') after we will either anchor in a bay
for the night or possibly get on a dock for the night (steak
night).
Day 3 we will dive the Emperor stern,
then the Congdon bow, then travel to the south end to the
America for a afternoon dive and do a night dive on her. We
will try to get on the dock in Windigo for the night.
Day
4 we will dive the Chisholm engine. Weather permitting,
(depth 120 - 150') after which we will travel back to Grand
Portage. Our water temps will be in the high 30's to
mid 40's. Vis is better with the colder temps,
seldom less than 20'. A 5 day trip is one more day
on the north end. Definitely the best bang for the
buck. A four day trip has the possibility of 11 dives
and a 5 day 15 or 16. We have added some pictures to
the web site and one of them is a map of the island with
the wrecks marked. We eat well and dive some of the
finest wrecks in the USA. This will be a trip
you'll remember long after you're back home.
> Roatan 2007
A trip anywhere else in March would have not been the
same. A bold statement you might say, but I believe it
in my heart. Our trip back to Cocoview resort in March
was wonderful. Being greeted as family when you walk back
into the door at the resort sets the stage for the entire week. You
know it’s time to put on your flip flops get your gear
ready and dive til you can’t dive anymore.
This year’s
trip was filled with fun people from Bemidji as well as a family
from Houston Texas. We had both divers
and non-divers that enjoyed everything the resort had to offer
as well as going to visit a hydroponics plantation on the island
for a tour. Enjoy our pictures and look for Roatan 2009!
We’d
love to have you with us.
